Either that wallpaper goes or I do

Photos of the much-more-finished zipper skirt. This version though still has some visible flaws...and I'm starting to think that to get it right I'll have to start over. Not enthusiastic about starting over. I need constant newness

lol - not sure what I was thinking in that last pic.

In the Meantime in Between Time

This quote has stayed with me from F. Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby when few other things have from that particular book. The phrase itself is in fact quoted from a song called "The Love Nest" in the book, as you can see here.

So because it's such a longtime favorite of mine, I've just gone from not being able to say "in the meantime" without "in between time", to making it the title of this blog.

If this picture brings you back to high school...you are not alone

Satisfaction is Death

-George Bernard Shaw.

So this is the zipper skirt. It's not finished yet, mainly because I have a problem with the elastic waist band...

I saw a similar skirt somewhere online, really can't remember where. In any case, I loved the design and decided to make my own

Leftovers

This is a bag I did from leftover red fabric. I used this tutorial to make it.

The whole exterior of the bag is pleated

Another nameless post

My second shirt with a gathered neckline.

Back view:

Yeah. Not much else going on. Been putting off studying this week, and made some progress on the black zipper skirt I've been wanting to make...pictures will be up soon.

Starting from the beginning - I made this shirt using these instructions. That is a great website by the way. Can't go wrong with tutorials and Buffy.

I know the pictures are dark, but my photoshop is having issues and I can't get it to work...so the pictures will have to stay dark for now.

The next one is the first skirt I made. I had some issues with its shape...so I put in some darts on the bottom which made it look a little strange. I, personally, like it.

Another skirt -

Oh and I should mention - the idea for the two skirts is from SewU by Wendy Mullin.

Little Bags

So I took some pictures today...
This isn't my first creation, but almost. I made two of them, and they are tiny bags (well, one tinier than the other) made using this tutorial.

Here's the smaller one:

The lining is the same as the outer fabric. And there's a snap closure.

The second one - slightly bigger:

All-in-all an excellent alternative to stuffing your pockets when going out :)
